백당나무 (Viburnum sargentii)

🌿 특징

- 인동과(Adoxaceae)에 속하는 낙엽관목으로, 우리나라 산지에서 흔히 자생합니다.

- 꽃: 5~6월경 흰 꽃이 산방꽃차례로 피며, 가장자리에 있는 꽃은 장식화(헛꽃), 가운데 작은 꽃들이 실제 열매를 맺습니다.

- 열매: 여름이 지나면서 붉게 익는데, 사진처럼 집단으로 매달려 숲속을 화려하게 장식합니다. 늦가을까지 붉은빛을 유지해 조경용 관목으로도 아름답습니다.

- 잎: 넓은 달걀형으로 3갈래로 깊게 갈라지고, 단풍이 들어 붉게 물드는 모습도 인상적입니다.

- 열매는 새들의 먹이가 되어 종자 확산에 기여합니다.
